Prayers for persecuted Christians in Tunisia
Sharia in Tunisia
In February, hundreds of Salafis gathered in the streets of TUNISIA’s capital and called for Islamic law. The country’s new draft constitution is based on Sharia.
Pray for courage and wisdom for Christians in the region. “Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life.”

Islamists Rising to Power
An Islamist group has risen to power in TUNISIA. Its leader reportedly seeks to institute Sharia law. Ask God to help believers in Tunisia remain faithful to Him. “For as many of you were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.”
Attempt to Seize Church
A group of Muslims in TUNISIA tried to seize a church and turn it into a mosque.
Praise God that their plots have thus far not succeeded. Pray that the congregation will stand strong in the Lord. “But you are...a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
Evangelists Forced to Flee
Some Christians who recently tried to share their faith in TUNISIA have been threatened by Islamists and forced to leave their homes.
Ask God to protect them and give them boldness. Pray also for the Islamist politicians who could pose a serious threat to believers. “But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior…”
Islamists Escape from Prison
Muslims are expected to fill the political void in TUNISIA following the recent uprising. Some Islamists have escaped from prison or are returning from exile.
Ask God to guard Tunisia and its churches from Sharia law. “Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power…”
Christian TV makes an impact
Tunisian Christians have completed the first Christian TV series in that country. "Never before were Tunisian believers prepared to so publicly confess their faith."
Ask for all the blessings of God to transform the Tunisian Church as He sends them forth to proclaim the Good News of the Savior. "The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works."
