Status of the Persecuted Church in Gambia
May 1, 2010
Muslim Population: 90% (Christian Population: 8%)

There are few churches and even fewer strong Christian leaders in this desperately poor country. Most Muslims have never heard the gospel and have little or no contact with followers of Jesus. The greatest growth in the church has come from prison ministries. Though a dominantly Muslim country, there has been little overt persecution.
