West Africa: Radach University

Radach

MARKETPLACE SERVANTS FOR TOMORROW’S AFRICA

West Africa.  A region of economic struggle and clashing religious commitments, mingling challenge and opportunity.  Half the population here is under 18.  Many lack education -- even qualified high school graduates often do not get university admission.

In the midst of one of West Africa's Muslim-dominated communities, the Lord has raised up a visionary leader -- a prominent ministry director and longtime partner of Smyrna Ministries -- to found a Christian institution of higher learning.  Beginning in September 2010, with the goal of welcoming up to 10,000 students in ten years, Radach University will provide courses in high-demand areas such as Language Studies, Science and Environment, Nursing, Business Management, Computer Science, Engineering and Architecture, and Agriculture.

The vision of the University is to raise up men and women equipped with knowledge, passion, cutting-edge skills, and a Christian worldview.  These young leaders will bring their abilities and expertise to towns and cities across Africa.  And as servants of God in the marketplace, they will find a multitude of new opportunities to offer Good News to their coworkers and neighbors.

God has already provided 320 acres of prime land and an international leadership team dedicated to building a true center of excellence.  They have begun the process of documentation, registration, and accreditation.

Site preparation is also underway.  Through your generosity, Smyrna was able to send an architect to help design the first stages of the campus -- and funds to start work on the first building.  Partners are coming on board.  The vision is becoming a reality!

Some $10 million is needed to fully establish the University’s infrastructure.  This is truly a God-sized project.  Will you become a part of it?
