West Africa: Village Wells and Bore Holes

The Wells and Bore Holes Project funds the drilling of bore holes and the digging of water wells for desperately impoverished mud hut villages in the West African country of Ghana. Thanks to your generous support, the village of Sukaya now has a bore hole, but other villages desperately need clean water. Some women have to walk four miles twice a day to bring water for their children. The water that they are able to find is brown, unclean, and infected with the guinea worm. The death rate for children in the village of Sukaya was near 60% before the Bore Hole project.

The cost for drilling a bore hole is estimated to be in the vicinity of $12,000. Your generosity could mean the difference between life and death for many of the children in African villages. You will also be building a bridge to the people of the villages for them to learn about the “living water” of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
