A Testimony of Forgiveness
Musa Blak, a Christian in Nigeria, woke up to dogs barking shortly before midnight. He went outside his house to investigate. Standing motionless, he watched the figure that was hiding behind nearby cactus trees. The figure moved away. Several minutes later Musa’s wife followed him outside and asked what he had found. As Musa was speaking to her, a gunshot rang out and she fell crying to the ground. When he reached for her, he too was shot. He says, “I struggled by crawling to the place my wife was lying on the ground and held her in my arms even as I was bleeding.”
Musa’s wife died. But the story doesn’t end there. Compass Direct News reports:
Blak said that in spite of the murder of his wife, he has been praying for the assailants. “I have been praying that these Muslims who attack us come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior, too,” he said. “I have forgiven them, because I know they do not know what they are doing.” He urged Christians to pray for those persecuting them. “Jesus Christ also did the same while on the cross,” he said.
“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace, which He lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight...” –Ephesians 1:7-8
