The Prayers of Many

February 18, 2012

Asia Bibi (also known as Asia Noreen) was arrested in June 2009 and sentenced to death for blasphemy in November 2009 in Pakistan. Those who receive the prayer guide have been praying for Asia since 2009. We prayed for the protection of her and her family when a price was put on her head and an advocate for her pardon was murdered. We prayed also as her appeal was delayed and she was mistreated in prison. Other organizations have also been reporting on Asia and requesting the prayers of many.

Asia asks for continued prayers. In a report she says, "I am thankful for those who are praying for me and my family. Please continue your prayers because I need your prayers. By the grace of Almighty God I am alright and praying for my safe exit from the false blasphemy charges."

Thank you for continuing to pray for Asia! If you would like to stay updated with prayer requests about this woman sentenced to death for blasphemy in Pakistan, you can request the (monthly) print or (weekly) email prayer guide here.

“Indeed we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead. He delivered us from such a deadly peril, and He will deliver us. On Him we have set our hope that He will deliver us again. You must also help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many.” –2 Corinthians 1:9-11
