The Cost of Evangelism in India
A pastor and his wife, Rev. Mafford Maharaj Singh and Kusum Singh, were distributing tracts and sharing their faith at a market in Kashmir. A mob gathered. The couple and a young woman who was with them were beaten, forcibly taken to the leader of the mosque, and then handed over to the police. They were accused of “promoting enmity between groups on grounds of religion, race, birth, residence.” The young woman was questioned and released. The pastor and his wife were released on bail.
Please pray for these believers.
“And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest questioned them, saying, ‘We strictly charged you not to teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.’ But Peter and the apostles answered, ‘We must obey God rather than men.’”—Acts 5:27-29
