Prayers for persecuted Christians in Comoros Islands
World’s Outcast, Child of God
When a man in the Comoros Islands was returning from a prayer meeting, he found evidence of a burglary. He told the police, but they turned the investigation around on him. Instead of focusing on the Muslim youth who broke in, they focused on the Bible and Jesus Film that they found at the crime scene.
Outcast Suffering from Disease
A Muslim background believer in the COMOROS ISLANDS has been disowned by his family and is suffering from a skin disease contracted in prison. A Muslim broke into his home and police beat him and imprisoned him in deplorable conditions. He has been released, but is an outcast.
Pray for healing for his skin disease and for comfort in his loneliness. Pray also that his family will turn to Jesus. “Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.”
Strength for the imprisoned
Pray that God will strengthen those imprisoned for their faith in the Comoros Islands to continue to proclaim the word of the truth of the Gospel. "For they have gone out for the sake of the name."
Prayer meeting crashed in Comoros
February 9, 2009
Police burst into a prayer meeting in the COMOROS ISLANDS. After they ransacked the building and discovered Bibles, they arrested all those present. The missionary who led the group was expelled from the country; others were detained for three months.
Pray that they will stand firm in the faith, and that God will add many more to their number. "When I pour out my Spirit upon the house of Israel, declares the Lord GOD."
Comoros convert attacked by family
A formerly Muslim student who received Christ in the Comoros Islands was assaulted by his own family. Neighbors rescued him, and he rented a house elsewhere while his wounds healed. But when Muslims discovered his location, they razed the rental house. He does not dare report the incident to police.
O Lord, guard and guide your servant! “To those who are called, beloved in God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ.”
