Jordan
The constitution allows religious freedom to Christians as long as they do not “violate public order or morality or conflict with Islamic law.” Essentially Christians can worship so long as they keep their faith within the four walls of the church building.
Though the country has been traditionally peaceful, the situation is becoming more intense. Militant Islamists are attempting to force the government to establish Sharia law. Secret police keep tabs on Christian ministries, and evangelists are prosecuted. Converts from Islam risk the loss of both civil rights and their jobs while sometimes facing death threats from family and others as well.
Prayers for persecuted Christians in Jordan

Ask the Lord to protect and provide for this Christian family. "The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and went on his way."

Pray for reunion. Pray also that the Word will continue to go forth. "Son of man, I have made you a watchman."
Jordanian convert flees, loses family
A Jordanian Muslim, a former jihadist, came to Christ -- and fled the threats of his family, who revealed that a bounty had been placed on his head. His wife and daughters were kept under "house arrest" by her family. When the young woman escaped to join her Christian husband, her father tracked her down, stabbed her repeatedly, and crushed her head with a rock.
Jordanian Christian family forced to flee country
A Jordanian Muslim-background believer and his family were forced to flee the country after he was beaten and taken to court by his own father on charges of apostasy.
Pray that the Lord will provide for all their needs. "The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save."
